How to organise your kintsugi workshop –
format
Most of our Kintsugi work is private events for corporate teams, at your office or at our school. For larger events of 40+ guests, we bring in additional trained facilitators, to ensure no more than 10 guests per instructor, so everyone gets proper hands-on attention. Joining as an individual? Our public Kintsugi workshops run on Saturdays, with tickets available through Eventbrite.
price
Our standard rate is £65pp, with everything provided. For a more authentic touch, we can also source premium Made in Japan ceramics for a small additional cost. All private events carry a £600 minimum
venue
For groups of up to 12, we can host your workshop at our school if you prefer. For larger teams, we’ll come to you — transforming your office, whether it’s a boardroom or kitchen space, into a calm, crafting-ready environment, complete with decoration and protective materials.
DURATION
Workshops typically run around 1.5 hours, and we’re happy to accommodate anyone who needs a little extra time to finish their piece.
PERFECT FOR
Team away days, onboarding, wellbeing weeks, client events and cultural celebrations such as ESEA Heritage Month. The shared, mindful activity supports connection, communication and resilience, and no one needs any craft experience.
Why Choose our Kintsugi workshop –
who we are
After trying several Kintsugi workshops in London, although the craft was taught similarly, we felt something was missing—depth and cultural context. So the team at Dear Asia set out to design our own. As professional educators, we’ve carefully designed a meaningful learning experience that honours tradition while being accessible for beginners, and comes with hands-on guidance throughout from each of our craft instructors.
your unique experience with us
We open with the Japanese concept of humbleness, inviting you to slow down, let go of perfection, and discover the quiet beauty in brokenness — even picking up a few simple Japanese phrases along the way to help you settle into a calm, mindful headspace. Every detail around you is considered too, from authentic Japanese treats to a carefully curated playlist, creating a traditional yet welcoming atmosphere that stays light, relaxed, and sociable rather than solemn. Then it’s hands-on: explore three different Kintsugi techniques and choose whichever suits your piece best, whether you’ve brought your own broken item or selected one of ours. Our instructors guide you every step of the way, so you leave with something genuinely personal and beautiful to keep.
Japanese Kintsugi
Kintsugi is more than a technique—it offers a glimpse into the Japanese way of seeing the world, shaped by the humble beauty of wabi-sabi. This traditional aesthetic embraces imperfection and transience, finding quiet elegance in the worn, the weathered, and the broken. It reflects a deep cultural humbleness—an acceptance of flaws, rather than a need to hide them.
