THE STORY BEHIND THE CELEBRATION

one Full Moon, Many ESEA Celebrations

The Mid-Autumn Festival, or Moon Festival, is a significant Asian holiday celebrated on the 15th day of the 8th lunar month, typically in September or October.

Across East and Southeast Asia, few festivals bring people together quite like the Mid-Autumn Festival. Second only to Lunar New Year in scale and significance, it’s celebrated under many different names and traditions — from mooncakes in China to Chuseok in Korea and Tsukimi in Japan — but the spirit stays the same: to celebrate lights and union under the same full moon.

“Celebrating the Mid-Autumn Festival is a wonderful way to connect with Asian cultures.”

A Dear Asia Event

Not a small undertaking – our whole team of experienced language, culture and craft educators comes together to design and deliver your experience.
Styled like a fun fair – activities are set up as different stations so guests can wander between at their own pace, making the whole event feel like a festival fun fair rather than a fixed itinerary.
Flexible by design – activities scale from an intimate team of 12–20 to a company-wide celebration of 60 or more.
Fully immersive – guests see, feel, learn, taste and create, connecting genuinely with Asian culture through multi-sensory experiences.
Active engagement – we keep a facilitator-to-guest ratio of 1:6–8, so everyone stays engaged and involved.
