Observed on the fifteenth day of the eighth lunar month\, it is a time when families and friends gather to admire the moon and celebrate the beauty of the season. \n\n\n\nOne of the festival’s most recognisable traditions is the sharing of mooncakes\, round pastries that symbolise unity\, completeness\, and reunion. Tea is often enjoyed alongside them as families come together for evening gatherings beneath the moonlight. Lanterns also play an important role in the celebration\, illuminating homes and streets with warm light as symbols of hope\, joy\, and good fortune. \n\n\n\nRooted in centuries of folklore and seasonal customs\, the Mid-Autumn Festival remains one of the most cherished celebrations in Chinese culture today. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWant to hire us? \n\n\n\nBespoke event for you! \n\n\n\nDear Asia is a London-based event organiser specialising in creative workshops celebrating Asian cultures.
